This new digicam is unique in many aspects: it is the first non-Single Lens Reflex camera with a large sensor format, it is the first to use a CMOS sensor in a fixed-lens digicam, it has the first LF sensor to give a full time preview (live), with an ISO 160-3200 it has the widest sensitivity range for a fixed (non-SLR) digicam; it provides an LCD
screen to be top-mounted which is the first of its kind; it is the first to use Auto Gamma Control for Sony cameras, and (dig this!) it is now the first Sony digicam to work compatibly with Adobe RGB color format.
Now what is so special about a large CMOS sensor anyway? Digital photographers will recognize the importance of the non-smearing effect, the imaging made simpler for live viewing, and the greater sensitivity and dynamic range this Sony digicam provides. Can't wait to put my hands on them!
